- Ball Tree Croft - Sompting
Ball Tree Croft is a registered residential care home providing person-centred care and support for up to 15 people over the age of 18 who have a learning disability. It has a four-bedroom respite/short break house where people can have short breaks, holiday or emergency respite.
The registered care home is made up of three houses. The two main houses have seven and eight single bedrooms, (four on the ground floor). There is a lounge/dining area, a separate kitchen and two bathrooms (one on each floor).
The short break service is made up of four large bedrooms all with en-suite shower rooms, lounge/dining area, separate kitchen, accessible bath on the ground floor and a lift to access the first floor. Three out of the four bedrooms have ceiling track hoists and there is a fully adaptable bathroom with a spa bath and hoist on the ground floor.
Ball Tree Croft is in Sompting, close to local shops, gardens and cafes. We have a courtyard for people to sit and enjoy the outside area when the weather is nice.
We actively encourage people to go out in the community independently or with support. We have a car which enables us to get out and about, accessing activities and meeting others. We are near public transport and other means of travel can be provided when people need to get out to pursue their interests, hobbies, appointments, or to see their friends and family.
An important part of what we do is enabling and encouraging people to be independent and make choices about their day-to-day lives. From what colour they have on their bedroom wall, to riding a bike, going to work, or future planning within the service (their home), we always ensure people are supported to explore opportunities. For example, we have People Ambassadors who not only live at Ball Tree Croft but represent the voice of the other people using our service.
