Code of Conduct

This symbol tells you that a provider has signed the West Sussex Connect to Support code of conduct.

All providers with a store on West Sussex Connect to Support must agree to the code of conduct as part of the registration process. The full code of conduct can be read here.

Contracted

This symbol tells you that a provider has a contract with West Sussex County Council.

West Sussex County Council has contracts with a wide range of different social care providers. If a provider does not have this symbol, it does not mean they are not good, it just shows that the county council does not currently have a contract with them.

Council-run Service

This logo tells you that the service is provided directly by West Sussex County Council.

All providers with a store on West Sussex Connect to Support must agree to the code of conduct as part of the registration process. The full code of conduct can be read here.

Care Quality Commission

This symbol tells you that a service is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The CQC is the national regulator that oversees nursing homes, care homes, domiciliary (home) care providers, hospitals, doctors and other health services that that have to be registered to deliver health and social care. It checks that these organisations are meeting the required standards.

The CQC website provides information about its latest inspections of these services. We strongly advise you to look at this information before making any decisions about social care provision.

Buy with Confidence

This symbol tells you that a provider belongs to West Sussex County Council's Buy with Confidence scheme.

The scheme provides consumers with a list of local businesses which have given their commitment to trading fairly. Each business has undergone a series of detailed checks before being approved as a member of the scheme.

A directory of West Sussex businesses that have signed up to the scheme can be picked up at libraries and a variety of other collection points across the county or viewed online on the West Sussex County Council website.

Social Care Commitment

This symbol tells you that a provider has signed the Social Care Commitment. The Social Care Commitment is a voluntary agreement that aims to improve standards in the care profession. Care providers who sign the commitment promise to invest in skills and standards in care.
