Listening to people and working together

We have continued to focus on strengthening our partnership working with people who use our services, family and friend carers, staff and stakeholders. This sits at the core of our Adult Social Care Vision and Stategy 2019-21 and is key to transforming our services and embedding a culture where we work together with people, as equal partners.

To help us achieve this, we made a commitment in our ‘Co-production: Adults’ Services Statement of Intent’ which includes a set of principles that we developed together with our stakeholders. We are now committed to re-focussing on embedding a ‘working together’ approach to development and delivery of our services during 2020-21. A senior manager co-production champion has been identified whose role is to drive this approach forward.

Looking ahead and what’s happening now

We are starting work on a project to create innovative and engaging learning for staff about the transformative potential of co-production for services and the people we support.

We are currently establishing a working group, including colleagues from the voluntary and community sector, to co-produce a programme of staff learning
