How we spent your money

The net expenditure for Adults’ Services in 2019-20 was £223m. This is an increase of £10m from 2018-19. The main reasons for that growth continue to be rising demand, greater complexity of needs and the impact of the National Living Wage on provider costs. In view of the financial outlook facing the County Council, the challenge is to deliver adult social care in a more sustainable way. Consequently, a key priority remains our focus on demand management including supporting people to be as independent as possible, in line with the priorities in our Vision and Strategy for Adult Social Care 2019-21.
